Case - T-151

T-151 - Spectrum Allocation of the 800-2600 MHz Bands

Spectrum bands between 800 MHz and 2600 MHz are principally designated for use by telecoms providers operating Island-wide wireless networks providing services intended for general public use (Full Service Network providers). Within these bands are several spectrum blocks that are currently not being used or being released following Sure’s acquisition of Airtel in 2024.

The JCRA Spectrum Strategy issued in April 2026 includes a decision to allow existing Full Service Network providers (JT and Sure) to apply for additional spectrum in the 800-2600 MHz bands.See here for more information.

The spectrum allocations framework and application process for this additional spectrum can be found in the Case documents section below.
