T-105 - Spectrum Strategy

Radio spectrum is a vital enabler of wireless communications, allowing devices such as mobile phones to connect to telecom providers’ networks. It is, however, a limited resource that requires careful licensing and management to ensure sufficient capacity for the wireless services and applications Islanders rely on, while also preventing interference between devices.

Following public consultation, the JCRA has developed a spectrum strategy establishing a framework for regulatory decisions, plans and areas of focus. This enables interested organisations to consider and plan future network, service and trial deployments.
