Calling Line Identity Review - Draft Guidance for Consultation

Calling Line Identity (CLI) facilities provide Islanders with important protection against telecoms-based fraud by allowing them to see the number of the person calling before deciding to answer or not. We are presently strengthening protection against the potential misuse of CLI by adding a new condition to licences of local telecoms operators clarifying expectations on the provision of CLI and what should be done with calls that may contain fraudulent CLI. We have created Guidance to help telecoms operators understand and implement the new licence condition. A document containing the draft version of the proposed Guidance is available below, for review and comment before we issue a final version.
