Office Manager / PA

Due to the success and growth of the JCRA, we have an exciting opportunity for a new role of Office Manager / PA to join our team. This person will be responsible for the smooth running of the office and for providing PA duties for the CEO and members of the board.  This wide variety of activities will require flexibility and a willingness to learn from the successful candidate.

The role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, and liaising with external contractors. Due to the nature of the organisation, the Office Manager / PA will often be the first point of contact for many of these stakeholders and will have ongoing relationships that are vital to the success of the Authority, hence we are looking for a person with excellent communication skills and a helpful and positive attitude.

The main responsibilities will include organising board meetings and creating associated agendas and minutes; diary management for the CEO and other officers; project management in relation to administration and office / facilities projects and managing the general filing and administration for the office; ensuring GDPR rules are adhered to; arranging meetings and travel requirements; general bookkeeping which the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience of; and managing outside contractors.  In addition, the successful application will have responsibility for Health & Safety within the office.

The successful candidate will have gained experience in a role with similar responsibilities and at a comparable level, reporting directly to Senior Leadership. The FTE salary for the ideal candidate will be in the range of £45,000 – £52,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Junior Case Officer

At the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority, we work to ensure that Islanders receive the best value, choice and access to high quality services, in addition to promoting competition and consumers' interests. This is achieved by providing guidance and advice to government and to businesses and is made possible by our team of committed professionals.

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Case Officer to join the Authority, to support the JCRA’s competition and regulatory case work.  Ideally, candidates will possess high-quality reasoning and analytical skills, including the ability to grasp both technical and non-technical concepts. This is a unique role and as such, we will look for transferrable skills from other sectors and jobs and will provide training and development opportunities in competition and regulation to support the successful applicant’s development as a Junior Case Officer.

The role of the Authority is dynamic and evolving and a small organisation, the breadth of responsibilities is greater for the JCRA than for regulators in larger jurisdictions. Projects can require technical, economic, legal, financial and communications skills and all employees share their expertise with the rest of the project team.
